The Eastman Dental Dispensary was built in 1917. Prior to that time local benefactors provided funds for the indigent children of Rochester to receive free dental services in several city locations. George Eastman provided the funds to build a free dispensary in Rochester. In 1978, the entity now named Eastman Dental, moved to the University of Rochester campus. The original dispensary sits vacant on East Main street. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.[1]
